Synopsis and Review
“A celebrated surgeon is always occupied at his clinic and at the university, to the disappointment of his young wife. She is forced to leave alone in an airplane for Tunisia, because her husband must postpone his own vacation. During the flight a storm forces the aircraft to make an unexpected sea landing. All the passengers are quickly rescued by a ship; but the surgeon’s wife was unconscious, and remained unnoticed in the aircraft.” Apparently, a certain degree of affection arises between the wife (now recovered), and the pilot, but by the end of the film (this being 1939), the two spouses reconcile.” (Note: if anyone would like to help with the translation of the full synopsis, we’d be very grateful).
Background
“Alessandrini repeated the success of his first film, directing Rossano, with Isa Pola and Filippo Scelzo in “Il ponte di vetro/The Bridge of Glass”, even if it was interrupted, in the first phase of production, by a falling reflector that fell on the head of the young actor, forcing him into the hospital for a week.”
Rossano Brazzi: Complete Actor, by Pietro Osso, 1942
